Confused about whether or not you have to reveal your hole cards to your table? Here's the official rules CPL will abide by:
*A player must show BOTH of their cards to claim a pot. The exception is if all other players have folded.
*All hands must be turned face-up when a player is all-in and no further action/betting is possible.
*The last player to make aggressive action (betting/raising) is obligated to show their hand first during a showdown. Other players involved in the hand (the callers) may then reveal their hand or muck.
*If a player chooses to reveal thier hand after the showdown even though they didn't have to show first, all other players gain the option of mucking if they wish to concede the pot.
*If a final round is checked down (no aggressive action), then the player to the left of the dealer is first to show. During instances such as these, players reveal their cards in a clockwise pattern.
*Players should never reveal (either physically or verbally) the identity of their hole cards prior to a showdown. Even if you think "it doesn't matter", all players must follow these rules. Repeating offenders may receive penalties. At this time, CPL has no defined penalties. The Directors are deliberating the issue.
*If a card is accidentally revealed to any player prior to a showdown, ALL players at the table gain the right to view the card.
*Players are prohibited from showing their cards to players that are not involved in the hand. This includes players that have folded, players that have been eliminated from the tournament, and even spectators who are not a part of CPL. Even if you think "it doesn't matter", all players must follow these rules. Repeating offenders (on both sides of the offense) may receive penalties. At this time, CPL has no defined penalties. The Directors are deliberating the issue.
